Chief Mentor: Who Shouldn’t Be an Entrepreneur

Kalyan Banerjee
Last month, I moderated a panel discussion with entrepreneurs who shared their experiences of entrepreneurship. There were five panelists, spread in age by a generation.

The youngest was Sandeep Hegde who founded dotCORD even before completing his engineering degree. At the  other end was Parthasarathy N.S., co-founder of MindTree.
Then we had Subramanyam Kashibhat, who has founded several innovative technology ventures; Bal Krishn Birla,  founder of Asklaila.com, a local information service across  India,  and Potluck, a restaurant.
Finally, there was Narayan Raman, author of  Sahi, an award-winning open source web test automation tool. In this blog, I’ll  share many interesting facets I learned.
First, while entrepreneurship can be glamorous, everyone need not be an entrepreneur.  The glamor soon wears off, and it’s more about hard work. If you are  enjoying your job, why look elsewhere?
Bal Krishn made one very interesting point: “If you are disturbed by things you cannot control, don’t be an entrepreneur.”
If you need clear objectives from your manager, or you cannot operate if the environment doesn’t cooperate, clearly entrepreneurship is not for you. Entrepreneurs create their own opportunities, they don’t wait for them to be handed out.
The entrepreneur needs a “pioneer” mindset; the pioneer does not complain  about the rubble but instead creates the road. Followers find a well  laid-out road and have a comfortable journey.
Again, at work we often  complain how our environment is difficult, so we cannot perform.  Entrepreneurs have no-one to complain to and must take responsibility for  problems they did not create. Entrepreneurship  needs tenacity.
While the criticism can be hard to accept, it’s  important to find people who will criticize your ideas. If you do not  listen to early criticism of your ideas, you are likely to pay a heavy  price and learn the mistakes when it’s too late.
Smart people learn from other people’s mistakes and can synthesize diverse lessons to apply them  in their specific context. While entrepreneurs  will certainly have their critics, they will also find supporters.
Some of  our panelists have such experienced people as mentors or even members of  their boards. Narayan pointed out that win-win is one thing we don’t learn  in IIT, as everyone is competing to beat the rest.
Another critical  success factor discussed by the panelists is an entrepreneur’s ability to attract and nurture the right people. Partha stated: “We are what we are because of MindTree minds.”
Sandeep said that he succeeded because he recruited the best people for his company. This discussion thus re-emphasized the principle that if you find the right people and provide them the right environment, they will ensure that you  succeed.
The discussion soon  turned to ethics. Can business and honesty go hand in hand?
It’s  interesting, the panel showed unanimity on this point.
“Only honest  businesses survive and grow,” said Subbu. There was another interesting  perspective on this: being an entrepreneur is about choice.
Bal Krishn  Birla raised the question: “Why be an entrepreneur if  you can’t choose to be  honest”.
The question remains,  can all this be taught?
There are certain basics of business that must be taught – every entrepreneur must learn about cash flows, for example. But  an MBA program cannot produce the fire.
It’s the learning mindset that’s more important than what is taught. A good learner will learn from every  situation, from every mistake, and from everyone he engages with — not  just from the teacher or a textbook.
So what are the  essential traits of an entrepreneur?
I’d put a pioneering mindset above all else; the overwhelming desire to change a part of the world and the willingness to take personal risks to make that happen. This means creating our own path and embracing the challenges that go with it.
Such passion needs to be backed by self belief, tenacity, thinking big,  accountability, learning from mistakes and from the experiences of others,  honesty, creating win-wins to leverage support, along with, of course, a  mindset for problem solving.
Then, not least, there’s having fun in the  midst of it all.

INDIAN Vs. NON-INDIAN Hosting

Hi All

Its very great to discuss here about the INDIAN & NON-INDIAN hosting.

Let's see some review from clients:

Hi,

i stay in bombay ... but still decided to have 4 servers in europe .. for below reasons ..

at reliance nobody knows what is cpanel ...?

at reliance you call them and they ask you 50 questions ... after their sals rep is supposed to call back .. but he never calls back ...

after paying money you will be the one running behind them for support .. compare to rest of the world their are reliable companies who give 24 x 7 super fast service ...

at vsnl prices are extremely high .. they say reliance is nothing compared to us ... all banks have their servers in vsnl .. i have personal visited vsnl datacenter ...

also compare bandwith cost ... ?

try in order of priority singapore, uk, europe, us (opposite side of ny), forget india for 2 years,

try pinging popular huge indian website .. where are they hosted ?

Basically why customers rapidly moving to NON-Indian servers, the clear reason behind this are follows:

1) Less Cost
2) High Bandwidth
3) Better Speed
4) Technically Sound Peoples
5) Good Support

What if all these 5 points you will get in INDIAN DATACENTER
:
As per facts in INDIA till 2010 there were no DATACENTER who can compete with US Servers/Datacenters. . but now the scenario has been changes completely:

You must also know we all proud in being an INDIAN so we must participate in growth of INDIA.

As per studies we must tell you 100-150 Crore Rs. (INR) are going ou of INDIA only for Servers Rent which is very bad for indian economy. this is only the reason why other countries are ahead then INDIA.

In History of Hosting, Data Warehousing WEB4DUNIYA Is first company who take challenge to MOLD this amount back in INDIA.

You might be laughing by reading all this b 'coz practically its sounds funny & too difficult but if you have strong mind & good plan then anything can be possible.

What We Are Doing:

We finally planned to make the ration of INDIA & NON-INDIA Hosting users to 90:10 in coming 2 years.

Yash Mittal (CEO & Founder) of Web4duniya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. & Rohit Sharma(General Manager) planned to open INDIA's First TIER IV Datacenter in pinkcity (JAIPUR).

There are some big datacenters in world like softlayer, the planet, rackspace, go daddy, so on . all are providing good services that's the reason people want to host thier apps/ websites on thier servers.

Now Better then thier Datacneter infrastructure you will get same thing in very affordable price in INDIA Itself then why not INDIA?

Problems on NON-INDIA Servers:

1) Less Speed (usually 350ms)
2) Too costly telephonic support( You cannot call them rapidly for support)
3) Data Leaking
4) Language problems sometimes
5) Extra Charge for solving critical issues
6) Non Managed servers

Benefits on INDIA Servers:
1) Lightening Fast Speed( 40-50ms)
2) Toll Free No. /5 Min. Call Back Facility
3) On Purchase on any server (small vps or dedicated server) Written SLA, TOS, MOU, Invoices hard copy free of cost upto your doorstep.
4) INDIAN can know very well our languages.
5) Highest uptime then NON INDIAN Servers
6) No extra cost in any condition.
7) Free migration from non-indian servers to indian servers.
8) Industry experts admin/solution experts.
9) Friendly behaviour with clients .
10) good credit limit.

Do You Need Online Presence – Managed Hosting?

Most companies or individuals starting out with a small online business; shared hosting makes a viable option and is only practical in a sense. After all, it’s affordable and you don’t have to worry about any complex administrative responsibilities. As you begin to generate a higher traffic volume and your business becomes popular, that shared server and its limited resources might not be enough to suit your needs. When its time to consider a dedicate server, but you lack the administrative skill set it requires, it may be time for a full turnkey service – you just might need managed hosting.

What is Managed Hosting? For the most part, managed hosting refers to the complete management and servicing of a dedicated server, which is provided on the web host’s behalf. In its full form, it also loosely refers to a shared hosting arrangement as the provider handles such responsibilities in this environment as well. I’ll talk about the similarities and differences between these two kinds of hosting in another article. Not only is managed hosting a valuable service to the company who lacks the IT staff and resources to maintain a dedicated server, but also the business who needs to focus its efforts on other critical tasks.

Who Needs Managed Hosting?
Managed hosting is suited for anyone who desires to turn over the administration of their dedicated server as well as those who prefer to devote their time to the core functions of the business. This type of web hosting solution spares you of the extra time and man power required to keep a dedicated server running seamlessly. The best thing about managed hosting is that you can still maintain a high level of control over your hosting operation yet are backed by a team of IT professionals who exist solely to keep you thriving. The level of server administration, technical support and overall infrastructure of a managed host is often greater than anything you will get in any other type of web hosting.

Is Managed Hosting Expensive? Perhaps the most expensive variation of web hosting you will find may be a Managed hosting. Depending on the status of your business however, you may conclude that such a service eventually pays for itself time and time again. See, with managed hosting you don’t have to worry about purchasing any software, hardware or associated components for your dedicated server. You simply select a package that suits your needs and pay a fixed price every month while the experts handle all the complex tasks they were trained to do. So although managed hosting might seem expensive on the surface, it can actually result in tremendous savings as you are spared of costs on equipment, software applications and physical resources. If your business demands a needs managed hosting you may check web4duniya.com which offers a vide range of Varity and choice to choose.

SQL Server 2008 has some nice improvements

Today, the most popular databases are based on the relational model. Microsoft SQL Server is also based on this model and that’s the reason why it is called a relational database management system or RDBMS.  MS-SQL and T-SQL are the basic query languages for Microsoft SQL Server.

There are several versions of SQL Server since its first introduction in 1989 when SQL Server 1.0 was introduced. With Katmai, as a codename, SQL Server 2008 is now available for everyone. SQL Server 2008 is the best option because data storage from unstructured, semi-structured and structured documents becomes a simple task with SQL Server 2008. It also offers integrated services which help you in order to perform different tasks like searching, reporting, synchronizing and analyzing.

Server Consolidation is another great benefit of switching to Microsoft Server 2008. Your cost of maintenance plummets because of the introduction of enterprise-class manageability. Microsoft Server 2008 also provides a great database engine for applications related to specific tasks. For OLTP data solutions, it provides visual designer, enhanced database mirroring with automatic data encryption for foolproof security.
There are several features that make SQL Server 2008 more special. To make things clearer, it is significant to quote Carl Olofson, an IDC analyst, “SQL Server is designed with Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and .NET framework all blended together. That … is the big selling point of SQL”.

So, you can now understand why SQL Server 2008 is regarded as a good option. To conclude, here are some of the improvements found in SQL Server 2008 that will help you to get to a decision.

•    Built-in data compression for optimized storage
•    Comprehensive data auditing
•    Introduction of Declarative Management Framework for consistent policy compliance
•    Resource Governor to manage workload resource prioritization
•    Support for XML, relational data, FILESTREAM and spatial data
•    External Key Management
•    Streamlined Installation

Build Your Perfectly Optimized Site Using Blogger.com

Hi All

This is the first blog of Web4duniya Technologies. As we all know blogging becoming so popular day by day and also its a perfect place to share our opinions and strategics with each other.

In the past few years WordPress has become the standard blog publishing platform because of its ease of use, rich feature set, available plugins, and standards compliance. Of course, the fact that it’s free and open source hasn’t hurt either.
While developers have flocked to using WordPress as their blogging platform of choice, it’s often overlooked as a content management platform for non-blog sites. WordPress allows you to create pages that are automatically are added to the sites’ navigation bar and can be customized by a PHP programmer to handle just about any task you’d want to accomplish with a site. Free themes and plugins can help reduce programming and design costs immensely, and with a little work WordPress can be customized to automate many of the most arduous SEO tasks. The result is a powerful and easy to use search engine friendly publishing platform that eliminates the majority of both upfront and ongoing SEO work.
Since WordPress is already very standards compliant, you and your programmer don’t need to worry about proper HTML formatting – that’s all taken care of for you. There are, however, a few simple steps that should be taken to turn your WordPress site into the ultimate search-optimized site.
You can download all of the themes and plugins mentioned below from the WordPress site or by doing a quick Google search.

We will keep you posted about Web4duniya!

Happy Blogging
